What is Stewardship?

Stewardship refers to how we manage and share the good gifts God has given to each of us – our time, our abilities, and our resources. As we share these gifts with one another in the context of our faith community, God will bless and use them to meet needs in this congregation, in the local community, and in our ministries around the world.

Immanuel’s 2017 Stewardship program is called Ripples, emphasizing how the gifts we give and the good we do have a ripple effect throughout God's creation. Generous giving and serving affect people and ministries we support across the globe. More information here.

OFFERINGS

There are a number of ways you can support the ministry of Immanuel through financial offerings:

Worship services: Simply place your offering in the offering plate during the collection at any weekend service. Offering envelopes are available. Be sure to include your name on the check or envelope, so that donation credit may be provided for tax purposes.

Mail: If you’re not able to make it to church, donations can be mailed to Immanuel’s office: 1715 Grant Rd, Los Altos, CA, 94024.

Online Giving: Immanuel now offers the possibility of giving donations electronically through our online service, Simply Giving. You can sign up to give your regular offerings through this service, or offer a one time gift. This option is easy, safe, and secure, and helps individuals and families to remain faithful and consistent in their giving, even when they are out of town or unable to attend a weekend service. To find out more or to sign up, go to our Online Giving page here.

Gifts of stock, bequests, and other instruments are also frequently-used as an effective way to support the church’s ministries. Email our office to get more information, or to arrange such a gift with our giving team.

Immanuel Lutheran Church takes the stewardship of God’s gifts seriously. Gifts and offerings are handled with financial integrity, ethical practices, and full accountability.

“Let us think of ourselves in this way, as servants of Christ and stewards of God’s mysteries. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.”  1 Corinthians 4:1-2
