Pastor David Schick
I began serving as pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in March 2010. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead this amazing Christian community dedicated to helping people experience the healing love of Jesus Christ. I have a passion for teaching and preaching, ministry with young people, music, and reaching out in meaningful ways to the surrounding community. Before coming to Immanuel, my wife, Carla, and I spent five years in ministry in the Eastern European country of Slovakia for ELCA. Because of our years of ministry overseas, we truly enjoy welcoming people from many cultural backgrounds, which is something that Immanuel does very well. We have two wonderful adult sons and two grandchildren. I am a musician and enjoy performing, composing, and leading music. I also enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking and camping.
Danny Dye, Youth Director
Danny Dye has been Immanuel's youth director since 2007. Danny's oversees all aspects of youth ministry in our congregation and supervises the Children and Teens Committee. He leads a weekly meeting for Sr. High Youth on Sunday evenings, and works together with Pastor David leading Immanuel's weekly confirmation program for Jr. High youth. Danny has developed a large and exciting Vacation Bible School/ Day Camp for children of the church and community, with Immanuel's older youth serving as leaders. The youth group also spends time reaching out to the community with service projects. Activities for all ages include a Pumpkin Party, Living Nativity, and an Easter Egg party and hunt. Annual trips he leads include a mission trip to Mexico, Confirmation Camp at Mt. Cross Lutheran Camp, youth conferences in San Diego and Thousand Oaks, as well as whitewater and skiing trips. Danny’s hobbies include golfing, running, swimming and anything else to keep him from getting old.
Nancy Allgeier, Parish Office Administrator
Nancy started at Immanuel in 2008 as Parish Administrator. She daily manages Immanuel’s busy office, which includes creating the weekly Sunday service worship bulletins and bulletins for other special services, a monthly newsletter, in addition to other special creative projects. Nancy is the primary communicator to the congregation of the many events going on at Immanuel. This includes everything from festive church events and activities to notifications of sensitive matters such as the passing of a loved one in a family. She works behind the scenes coordinating many volunteers for numerous activities on a weekly basis. Besides being creative on the job, personally Nancy enjoys creating beautiful works of art with stained glass and other media, she enjoys listening to good music, swimming, hiking, biking, and spending time near the ocean.
Perry Thoorsell, Praise Team Coordinator
Praise Team Coordinator since 2008, Perry directs the Praise Team during the 9 AM Sunday worship service and on special occasions, conducting, planning worship music and running rehearsals while playing bass and piano.
